For many years, these military installations have been the subject of ongoing discussion regarding their role and effects in local communities.

At HRIC, however, we approach this reality from a different perspective. U.S. military bases represent a substantial business opportunity for Japanese contractors, and a meaningful avenue for contributing to regional economic growth.

Born and raised in Okinawa with roots in both Japan and the United States, I grew up with U.S. military installations as a natural part of everyday life.

This upbringing is what drives my belief that these installations should be seen not as a subject of political debate, but as a field of opportunity for Japan’s economic community.

U.S. Military Construction (MILCON) projects are executed under stable funding and rigorous quality standards.

For Japanese companies, entering this market means more than simply expanding their project pipeline.

It is an opportunity to develop internationally recognized construction capabilities and build bilingual operational competencies.

However, language barriers, regulatory complexity, and the highly specific procurement processes of the U.S. military have prevented many Japanese firms from accessing this market.

HRIC was founded to remove those barriers.
